Roar Awards Recognized Deserving REALTORS®

The ROAR awards recognized Calgary and area REALTORS® for their contributions to real estate, the ceremony was emceed by 2010 Olympic gold medalist Jon Montgomery.

March 1, 2014 marked the inaugural ROAR (Recognizing our Accomplished REALTORS®) awards, where over 200 Calgary and area REALTORS® were nominated for an award, and over 1,100 public votes were cast for the People's REALTOR®.

"The ROAR awards are especially meaningful because the nominations were made by industry peers, and in the case of the People's REALTOR® category, by clients," said ROAR committee chair, Corinne Lyall. "Each nominee has demonstrated excellence in real estate and all are great ambassadors of our profession."

Awards were presented in the following categories: marketing excellence, mentorship distinction, community impact, commitment to education and People's REALTOR®. CREB® congratulates all of the nominees and ROAR recipients.

Dennis Plintz, Sam Corea and Karen Salmon were nominated for the marketing excellence category, with Salmon taking home the award.

For the mentorship distinction category Justin Havre, Robyn Moser and Guy Mitchell were the nominees with Mitchell as the recipient.

Derek DuBoyce, C.R. "Dick" Brown and Dennis Plintz were the nominees of the community impact award, Plintz was the ROAR recipient.

The recipient for the commitment to education award was George Mathews, the other nominees were Lynn Martin and Junaid Malik.

Finally, the People's REALTOR® award was presented to Brenda Nault. Sharon Cragg and Lisa Wood were the other nominees for the award.
