Broadview, Avi Urban big winners at SAM Awards

Broadview Homes and Avi Urban walked away as the big winners Saturday night as the newly amalgamated Canadian Home Builders’ Associaton – Urban Development Institute Calgary Region Association held its 29th Sales and Marketing (SAM) Awards at the Telus Convention Centre.

Broadview Homes, which is part of the Qualico Group of Companies, took home Builder of the Year honours, while Avi Urban, a division of Homes by Avi, captured Mult-Family Builder of Year.

Broadview also won in three categories for single-family homes, while Avi Urban won in two individual categories.

Other big winners from the night included McKinley Masters as Builder of Merit, Renova Luxury Renovations as Renovator of the year and Wildwood Cabinets as Partner of the Year.

All told, 58 awards were handed out in 12 different categories covering all aspects of the Calgary region’s residential construction industry.

More than 1,300 people attended this year’s celebration, which received more than 830 entries.

“The industry consistently puts out its best each year and as usual the competition at this year’s SAM Awards was extremely close,” says Shane Wenzel, chair of the SAM committee for CHBA – UDI Calgary Region Association. “Our members continue to impress with their resilient spirit and passion for the industry.”
