Calgary is home to 20-plus golf courses – a mix of private, semi-private and public clubs – plus many more in the areas surrounding the city. Whether you're a beginner or a pro, and no matter what part of the city you live in, there's a golf course nearby where you can hone your skills or just have some fun.



Blue Devil Golf Club – Chaparral
Nestled along the Bow River on the southern edge of the city, this public club has a scenic 18-hole course, as well as a 9-hole course that is perfect for beginners or anybody looking to improve their short game.



Calgary Golf and Country Club – Windsor Park
Established in 1897 along the Elbow River, it is the oldest playable private course in Alberta. The land was purchased in 1909 and play began in 1911.

Canyon Meadows Golf and Country Club – Canyon Meadows
This private club, which officially opened in 1957, is home to an 18-hole course with five sets of tees to challenge golfers at any level, as well as two driving ranges, a short game practice area and a practice putting green.



Confederation Park Golf Course – Collingwood
Owned and operated by the City of Calgary, this public facility is home to a 3,211 yard, 9-hole course suitable for advanced golfers, as well as a 47-stall driving range and a putting green.



Country Hills Golf Club – Country Hills
This private golf club is home to two 18-hole championship courses. The Talons course features five lakes and the West Nose Creek, while the Ridge course offers a more park-like experience, with beautiful trees and manicured turf.

Eaglequest Golf Douglasdale – Douglasdale
This public, 18-hole course can deliver an enjoyable round of golf to both beginner and advanced golfers. A driving range and chipping green are also available to visiting golfers.

Earl Grey Golf Club – Lakeview
This private club, established in 1919, features a picturesque 18-hole course with more than 2,500 trees. The club's original course was located south of Earl Grey Public School in Mount Royal, but moved to its current location on the northern edge of the Glenmore Reservoir in the early 1930s.

Fox Hollow Golf Course – Winston Heights-Mountview
This public course in northeast Calgary, suitable for both beginner and advanced golfers, features a 6,500-yard, 18-hole course, as well as a short-game practice facility and a heated, 50-stall, indoor driving range.

Golf Canada Centre – Ogden
This public facility offers a challenging 9-hole, par-3 course, as well as a heated, all-season driving range, and a number of golf simulators to help anyone improve their game. It also acts as Golf Canada's training centre for Alberta.



The Hamptons Golf Club – Hamptons
The private club, founded in the 1990s, features a 6,869-yard, 18-hole course that winds through the natural terrain of the Hamptons community.

Inglewood Golf and Curling Club – Inglewood
This semi-private, non-profit facility on the banks of the Bow River just outside downtown Calgary is home to a prestigious, 18-hole championship golf course that dates back to the 1930s.



Lakeview Golf Course – North Glenmore
Owned and operated by the City of Calgary, this public facility is home to a 1,582 yard, 9-hole course suitable for beginner to intermediate golfers, as well as a putting green overlooking the Glenmore Reservoir.

Maple Ridge Golf Course – Maple Ridge
Owned and operated by the City of Calgary, this public facility is home to a 6,576-yard, 18-hole course suitable for advanced golfers, and a practice putting green.



McCall Lake Golf Course – northeast industrial area
Owned and operated by the City of Calgary, this public facility is home to a 913-yard, 9-hole course suitable for beginners and families, and a more challenging 6,693-yard, 18-hole course for advanced golfers. It also features two putting greens, a chipping area and a 37-stall driving range.



McKenzie Meadows Golf Club – McKenzie Lake
This public golf club in Fish Creek Provincial Park features an 18-hole championship course with four sets of tees for the enjoyment of golfers of all skill levels. There is also a driving range and practice facilities on site.



Richmond Green Golf Course – Currie Barracks
Owned and operated by the City of Calgary, this public facility is home to a 1,132-yard, 9-hole course ideally suited for beginner golfers and families.

Shaganappi Point Golf Course – Shaganappi
Owned and operated by the City of Calgary, this public facility a few minutes from downtown is home to a 2,169-yard, 9-hole course and a 5,181-yard, 18-hole course – both suitable for golfers of intermediate skill. It also features a 44-stall driving range and a putting green overlooking the city.



Silver Springs Golf & Country Club – Silver Springs
This private club, located 15 minutes from downtown Calgary, features an 18-hole course spread out across 300 acres of rolling hills and valleys that is designed to test golfers of all abilities.

Silverwing Links – Whitehorn
With 27 holes and five sets of tees, this public course built in 2006 is designed to be enjoyable and challenging for golfers of all skill levels. It's also equipped with a driving range and a large putting green.

Valley Ridge Golf Club – Valley Ridge
This semi-private club features a 7,026-yard, 18-hole championship course in a secluded valley 15 minutes from downtown Calgary.



Willow Park Golf & Country Club – Willow Park
This private club, established in 1965, is located in Calgary's original planned golf course community. It features a scenic and challenging 18-hole course with tree-lined fairways surrounded by private homes.



The Winston Golf Club – Winston Heights-Mountview
Nestled along the Bow River on the southern edge of the city, this public club has a scenic 18-hole course, as well as a 9-hole course that is perfect for beginners or anybody looking to improve their short game.
