Fundraiser started for Hidden Valley fire victims

A local REALTOR has spearheaded fundraising efforts for nine Calgarians whose four homes were affected by a two-alarm fire Monday night.

The fire broke out around 5 p.m. on April 20.

"When the fire happened, people in the community started phoning me," said CIR's Robyn Moser. Moser, who said she's advocated on behalf of Hidden Valley for the last decade used her connections to spread word about the fire and start arranging for help for the people affected.

"I just got up and started helping," she said. "That's what you do."

A Facebook page updates those looking to help on items that can be donated as well as updates on the families looking for places to stay. A fundraiser page has also been started for those looking to make monetary donations and at the time this was written was at more than $2,400.

No one was injured in the blaze.
