Perhaps one of Calgary’s most vibrant and eclectic communities, the Beltline has something for everyone – fabulous restaurants, hip cocktail bars, a variety of pubs and craft breweries, upscale grocery stores, green space galore, and an enticing selection of condo-style housing for buyers of all stripes.

He adds that being in the catchment area for Western Canada High School is also a big draw for buyers with children.

Leung says the area offers a good mix of new-build and resale product, with a smattering of townhome and live/work options.

With a benchmark price sitting in the affordable mid-$200,000s, the demand for housing in the community is skyrocketing.

“We saw 43 sales in June, up from 16 in January,” said Leung. “Sales are definitely climbing.”

  • Central Memorial Park sits at the heart of the community, with its Victorian-style gardens and iconic equestrian monument, sculpted by Quebec artist Louis Philippe Herbert and unveiled in 1914. It has been described as one of the four finest equestrian statues in the world.
  • The Saddledome and surrounding Stampede Park are busy year-round between Calgary Flames games, the Calgary Stampede and other events.

  • The Beltline’s Lougheed House was built in the Victorian style circa 1891. The 14,000-square-foot estate, which sits on a 2.8-acre site and includes gardens filled with roses and vegetables, was called Beaulieu by the original owners, Lady Isabella Hardisty Lougheed and Senator Sir James Alexander Lougheed.
