Community Profile: Beddington Heights and Huntington Hills

For those who enjoy being surrounded by nature and other green spaces, the communities of Beddington Heights and Huntington Hills might be just the ticket.

With Nose Hill Park fringing the western edges of these two neighbouring areas and Nose Creek Parkway nudging at their eastern edge – not to mention the dozen or so parks within the communities – residents here have ample opportunity to immerse themselves in the outdoors.

"There is really good value in these communities. The price points are very accessible. If you are looking for a single detached home, you can get in for under $400,000," said Rob Whitfield, a REALTOR® with Sather Real Estate Pro Brokers Ltd., adding the bulk of the homes in these communities are priced between $400,000 and $500,000.

Both communities straddle Centre Street in north Calgary. They are bounded by 14th Street S.W. and Nose Hill Park to the west and Deerfoot Trail to the east, providing easy access to pretty much anywhere in the city.

Established in the late '60s and '70s, the two communities predominantly feature single-family homes in mid-century, split-level and ranch-style bungalow designs. There is also a peppering of townhomes, duplexes and two-storey, single-family designs.

"People are definitely buying and renovating in these communities," said Whitfield. "It's spring and there is definitely an uptick in the market, and the northwest is quite strong because the price points are really great."
