Canmore Development Passes $10 Million in Sales

The developer of a new seniors development in Canmore has announced they have passed $10 million in sales.

With 22 of the project's 56 suites sold since the sales centre opened earlier this year, developer Origin announced the milestone at its new Origin at Spring Creek active living seniors' residence. "We broke ground April 15th and we've seen remarkable sales with almost 50 per cent of the suites already sold," said Frank Kernick, president, Spring Creek. "The community is excited about the project as there's really no other high-end development like Origin at Spring Creek. It's designed for active seniors who'd like to remain in the Bow Valley region."

Origin at Spring Creek offers one or two bedroom suites with a mix of independent living condominiums with assisted support and also rental suites. Managed by Origin Active Lifestyle Communities, there's a focus on helping residents age comfortably while they remain active, social and involved with their community.

The development is on 28 hectares of land with 30 per cent green space set aside for parks and courtyards. A treelined boardwalk along the creek links Spring Creek to downtown Canmore.

"Baby boomers and their parents have come to expect a higher level of amenities, service and activities. Spring Creek provides an elegant living experience and has a world-class location," said Neil Prashad, president, Origin Active Lifestyle Communities.

Situated in the Canadian Rockies, residents of Spring Creek are within easy walking distance of Canmore's eclectic and vibrant main street. With access to boutique shops, cafes and restaurants, as well as outdoor recreational activities like fishing, golfing, and hiking, Spring Creek is proving popular with buyers. Suites include open layouts and there is a large diversity of amenities including a yoga studio and full-length aquasize pool, a salon and spa, an art studio, a music room, and a British-style local pub on site.

Construction at Spring Creek remains on schedule with full completion expected in early 2015. When completed the 28-hectare development will feature four condominium lodges, creekside villas and eight single- family estates.
