The CREB® REALTOR® Community Foundation is now accepting applications for its 2021 Legacy Grant in support of local housing and shelter initiatives.
Through the investment of local REALTORS®, $300,000 is available in this year’s Legacy Grant for non-profit organizations working to solve complex needs around housing and shelter.
“Our Legacy Grant is about making a substantial impact on the supply of safe and affordable housing in the community,” said Murray Scotton, chair of the CREB® REALTOR® Community Foundation.
“The funding that we provide through this grant program will go a long way to expand the range of housing options at a time when people really need it.”
The Legacy Grant is the Foundation’s signature funding stream designed to make a substantial impact in the local community and will be awarded as either a one-time contribution or through a multi-year funding partnership.

“Our non-profit partners are doing all kinds of amazing work and we want to support that effort,” said Jason Yule, CREB®’s director of communications.
“By funding new housing and shelter projects, we can contribute to building a wider pool of options and move toward our vision of empowering self-sustaining communities.”
The Legacy Grant application will be open until May 21 and successful applicants will be notified by June 30.
The Legacy Grant is one of three grant streams the foundation unveiled in 2020 as part of a new funding framework designed to create new housing, keep people housed and improve housing quality. The foundation’s Community Grant and Transformation Grant streams will start accepting applications in September.
