Q Condos bring downtown lifestyle to Sage Hill

A new condominium project loaded with urban appeal has launch in the new-urbanist-style enclave of Sage Hill Quarter in the heart of Calgary’s new northwest. The project, which is called Q Condos, is the latest offering from Morrison Homes Multi-Family.

“There is really nothing like this in the northwest,” said Robert Toth, marketing lead for Morrison Homes Multi-Family. “It is very unique.”

Tucked into an area overlooking a scenic pond and fountain, this collection of 173 one- and two-bedroom apartment-style homes will strike the perfect balance for homebuyers who want to be in the heart of it all – steps away from funky bistros, coffee shops, fitness facilities and grocery stores – yet far enough from downtown’s hustle and bustle.

“Imagine being able to grab a coffee in the morning at the local café, or inviting friends over for dinner at one of the restaurants, or even the convenience of walking out your door to the Co-op to pick up some fresh food for dinner,” said Toth.

Located on the northeast edge of Sage Hill Quarter’s 17-acre residential, commercial and retail canvas, Q Condos will be spread between two buildings that slope from southwest to northeast, adding texture and facilitating water views. Q1, the first phase, will be a five-storey, low-rise building with West Coast contemporary architecture, featuring a backdrop of stucco and Hardie board with cultured stone and metal detailing. The second building, Q2, will be six storeys.

Homes range from 564 to 908 square feet, featuring oversized outdoor terraces; kitchen islands topped with gleaming quartz; flat-panel, lift-out cabinetry; stainless steel appliances; ensuite walk-in closets; and vinyl plank flooring.

“Floor plans make really good use of the space, and we wanted them to be very contemporary,” said Toth, adding that buyers can choose from a selection of three interior colour palettes to personalize their homes.

On-site amenities include two guest suites, perfect for out-of-town guests. “We are also considering a gym, but that hasn’t been finalized yet,” said Toth.

Homes start in the low $200,000s, including GST. Heated underground parking for both the car and the bike, and a sizeable storage locker, are also included in the price.

“There is an intrinsic value in this kind of project,” said Toth. “It provides the downtown vibe without the downtown prices and hassles.”

Possessions are expected to begin in late 2019.
