Newport in Canal’s Landing offers affordable townhomes in Airdrie’s premiere water-focused community
If you’ve been searching for a beautiful and affordable townhome in the heart of an established community, look no further than the picturesque community of Canal’s Landing in Airdrie. On June 23, Genesis Builders Group is hosting a grand opening for Newport, its latest offering in the community.
“Newport is really a community within a community, and is perfect for millennials, professionals or downsizers,” said Kelsey Orvis, marketing co-ordinator at Genesis Builders Group. “It’s really designed for anyone who wants to spend more time enjoying life, rather than shovelling snow and cutting grass.”
A collection of 85 stacked and three-level townhomes with attached garages, Newport is the final project within Canal’s Landing. Once it is finished, it will complete the master-planned community.
The splash launch party runs from noon to 5 p.m. and will unveil the Marley – a 1,313-square-foot, three-storey, two-bedroom model. Expect face painting, food trucks and lots of fun for people of all ages.
Like its namesake, Newport offers a distinct, outdoorsy-style vibe. Wood shakes, cultured stone, and rich jade green and coastal blue facades complement the Craftsman-style theme.
Interiors promote ease of living, with large, central kitchens that are perfect for entertaining. “The kitchen is usually where everyone tends to gather, so we made sure that it was the centerpiece of the home, anchoring the space,” said Orvis.
With thoughtful design that includes little or no wasted square footage, these homes really stand out. “We really wanted to make sure that there was more than enough room for cooking, entertaining and living your life,” said Orvis.
Interior finishes are curated with lots of room, freedom and flexibility for customization, including optional electric fireplaces and built-in storage.
Homes are designed in pods of eight or 10, and spill on to either a central landscaped park, or pathways. All have access to the winding canal system and its wooden boardwalks and pathways, perfect for that evening run or a casual walk with the dog.
Because Newport is being built in an established community, the amenities are already extensive. “There are two great schools within walking distance, soccer fields, and there is lots of open space,” said Orvis. “Plus, Airdrie is a smaller community, so you are close to whatever you might need.”
What really sets this project apart is the price point. Homes start at just $199,000 plus GST. “You definitely get more home for your dollar in Airdrie,” said Orvis.
