CREB® Charitable Foundation celebrates the spirit of giving
$250,000 donated to Calgary and area charities

Calgary, Dec. 12, 2013

CREB® Charitable Foundation celebrates the holiday season this year by donating a total of $250,000 to 19 Calgary and area charities. The foundation's membership consists of more than 5,200 Calgary and area REALTORS®, working together to encourage and promote their charitable and philanthropic activities. Since starting in 1987, the foundation has donated over $4.8 million to important charities and impactful programs.

With the goal of helping to build self-sustaining communities, the foundation invests in shelter and community enhancing initiatives every year and empowers REALTOR® members to serve and give back to their communities.

This year, four charities were chosen to receive CREB®'s Governors' Grants based on the significant impact funding would have on the organizations.

CREB® Charitable Foundation Governors' Grant recipients

? Sonshine Community Services, receiving $50,000;
? Servants Anonymous Society Calgary, receiving $25,000;
? Cochrane Society of Housing Options, receiving $15,000; and
? Highbanks Independent Living for Parenting Youth Society, receiving $10,000.

Additionally, CREB® Charitable Foundation's Investing in Hope program will donate $10,000 to the top 15 charities members voted for. REALTORS® nominated their favourite non-profits for the program and voted online to determine the winners.
