Home Tweet Home benefiting Ronald McDonald House

The works of some imaginative young minds are the inspiration of the Calgary Home + Garden Show's new Home Tweet Home project.

In a silent auction running the duration of the show - Feb. 26 to March 1 - attendees can bid on birdhouses designed by "local influencers" taking inspiration from works by young beneficiaries of Ronald McDonald House Charities Southern Alberta, with all proceeds directly benefiting the charity.

"Home Tweet Home was crafted in an effort to capture and celebrate the magic of children's imaginations," said Teri Salazar, show manager at Marketplace Events, producer of the Calgary Home + Garden Show. "Partnering with Ronald McDonald House Charities Southern Alberta on this initiative has been an amazing experience. We really relish the opportunity to help support their deserving families."

Calgary's Ronald McDonald homes have been in operation since 1985, providing a home-away-from-home for over 20,000 families from outside Calgary so they can stay close to their children during hospital stays.

"We are always looking for ways to get involved in the community and bring awareness to Ronald McDonald House Charities Southern Alberta," said Larry Mathieson, CEO. "Partnering with the Calgary Home + Garden Show has allowed our families and children to dream, create and most importantly, have fun."

Participants in the project include Angela Knight with CBC Calgary, Carlos Cuevas with Kool 101.5, Katie Mooney of Alykhan Velji Designs, Ryan Massel of I'm Mr. Fabulous and Kelsey Hipkin and Cody Stuart of the CREBNow real estate news.
