Council approves Paskapoo Slopes development

After a decision by Calgary City Council June 10, 73 homes have the go ahead for development on Paskapoo Slopes — land south of Canada Olympic Park.

According to the Calgary Herald, the decision was made despite reservations by some members of council as well as locals looking to preserve the land.

"It is very sad that this city has allowed development to overtake history," says the Paskapoo Slopes Preservation Society website. "The slopes are sensitive to the environment and erode easily due to underground springs."
