What’s a life hack you may ask?
“For the uniformed, a life hack is a strategy or technique that helps manage one’s daily activities in a more efficient way,” said a release from the Calgary Home + Design Show running Sept. 18-21 at BMO Centre. “And the ideas out there are endless: from storing holiday decorations in an egg carton to painting keys with nail polish for easy identification.”
This year’s show will see interior decorating students from Bow Valley college creating their most inventive life hacks. The student with the best life hack earns the chance for a $1,000 scholarship courtesy of the show – the first of its kind for the Bow Valley program.
While the life hacks competition will change an interior design students life, the lives of others will be changed thanks to the Upcycle Challenge 2: ChairLIFT.
ChairLIFT will see local celebrities upcycling “pre-loved” chairs into new creations using Rust-Oleum products and a $50 budget. Chairs will be up for grabs via silent auction with all proceeds benefitting Habitat for Humanity Southern Alberta.
