Calgary summer bucket list

There’s still time to cross these off your Calgary summer bucket list!

Picnic in the park
Whether it’s a date, a day with your family, or an afternoon with your friends, a picnic in the park with some games or crafts is a great way to spend quality time together during the summer. Pack your favourite treats and a blanket to set up a spot in the grass, or book a picnic site with tables and a fire pit for roasting hotdogs and marshmallows.

Hit up your favourite patio
Nothing says summer like soaking up the sun on a patio with some delicious food and drinks. Make sure you get out to your favourite patios a few more times before they pack up until next summer.

Zoo date
Not only does the zoo have animals from all over the world, but this summer, they have WildScapes, larger-than-life animal garden sculptures. This exhibit won’t be around for much longer; make sure you check it out before mid-September.

Float the Bow
If you don’t have your own raft, don’t worry, Lazy Day Raft Rentals and The Paddle Station have you covered. Floating down the Bow River is the perfect way to relax and cool off on a hot afternoon with your friends and family, just don’t forget a lifejacket and sunscreen!

Enjoy the sweet seasonal fruit
Stop by your local grocery store or fruit stand and indulge in BC peaches, plums and cherries before they are out of season.

Bike the city
Calgary is connected from one end to another by pathways and bike lanes, so why not explore a new area? While you’re at it, pack a picnic and stop at a park along the way.
